See the duck’s feet paddle faster and faster

I’ve been packing. Trying to get a load together for the man to take out with him this weekend. And also to get a bunch more ready for when he comes back. What’s nice is all that decluttering we did for selling means that there’s less to pack than you might think. But there is still a bunch, don’t get me wrong. Downstairs walls are pretty blank. Dogs are freaking out a little bit. Poor guys. But they are happy to have the man home, as are the kidlets.

I’m trying to figure out the plans I need to make. I need to find organization. Is there a store that carries it?

If you are putting the mattresses into boxes for the move, I strongly recommend putting sheets, blankets, pillows, and pillow cases into the same box. Even if you are not putting the mattresses into their own boxes, keep track of the bed linen that you will need for the first night. Because, I can state with firm conviction that the box you need will be at the bottom of the 200 box pile up. Also, load the broom, vacuum cleaner, and any cleaning supplies last on to the truck. That way, they are first off of the truck and there for when you will need them.

Try I think she might have a reminder checklist for moving. Of course, you’ve already accomplished the first step she’d recommend – decluttering! Her advice has helped me a lot, “Ask yourself, Do I love it? Do I need it? Does it make me happy? If you don’t answer yes to any of those questions, you should probably get rid of it.”

I don’t always follow that advice, but I’m getting better. 🙂

    Some more questions:

Have I used it in the last 6 months? 1 year? 2 years? Do I know what is in this box without opening it?

Do not include the family in these questions. It was never a good idea in mine. I was always a little greatful
that the Navy, in it’s infinite wisdom, always had my husband gone for the pack/move outs. I managed to trim a lot of things while both packing and unpacking. My husband hardly ever asked where something was. ~_^
